African Art Day
On Thursday 9th November, the artist Bemma Akyeampong visited our school to hold workshops on African Dance and Art based on the African Festival of Light.
We performed dance moves to represent the chief passing on the ‘light of goodness’ to the people in the villages, spreading the message that good wins over bad.
In the afternoon, Bemma held workshops with classes 3 and 4. They produced an African abstract piece of art using canvas and earthy coloured paints. The design was based around geometric shapes using two colours. Classes 1 and 2 worked in class producing their own abstract art using bright colours and geometric shapes.
