Class 2, is years 1 and 2 and is taught by Mrs Bacon. We have Mrs Dillon to support us every day and Mrs Harrison each afternoon.
We love working with lots of practical apparatus to help us with our maths and really enjoy reading lots of different stories and texts to help us with our writing.
Science in Class 2
On Friday 13th May, Class 2 had fun learning how to use iPads in science. They used them to take photographs of and then label different body parts so that they could better understand how the human body works. View the gallery below to see our children utilising technology to study science.
To celebrate all the hard work Class 2 has completed this half term, particularly the fact that for the last 3 weeks of the half term we have had 100% of our children as 'Fab 5' readers, Mrs Harrison, our fantastic teaching assistant (famous locally for her amazing baking talent) made us a celebratory cake. The unbelievable thing was, it actually tasted even better than it looked! Well done to all Class 2 for a superb effort this half term! Take a look at our celebratory cake below.
Our New Castle
Our topic for the term following Christmas has been castles. We've been learning about all the features of castles, such as moats, drawbridges and towers. Following that, we've been extremely busy learning about the people that used to live in castles through fairytales and other research. Finally, we've built a fantastic castle. Please see the photograph below of our brand new castle.
