Class 4 have been taking part in a range of activities and lessons exploring citizenship and democracy as part of UK Parliament Week.
We started off with a quiz to discover what we already knew about Parliament. The questions are attached – how many can you answer?
We learned how MPs are elected and watched them debating issues live in the House of Commons on UK Parliament live.
This is the link if you would like to see what happens:
We also had a debate of our own with the motion: ‘Schools should have longer holidays’. The children put forward some excellent arguments for both sides and we finished with a secret ballot. The result was very close!
It has been a great week and we can’t wait to visit the Houses of Parliament on our trip to London next year.
