Autumn Term One
We have had a very busy first half term in Class 4.
We launched our topic on ‘Space’ with a trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester. Whilst there, we visited the 360degree Planetarium, where we experienced an amazing show about Space and how to train to be an astronaut. We also took part in a ‘Mars Rover’ workshop, where we had to program models to move forwards, backwards, in circles and even perform a figure of eight!
Back in school we wrote detailed recounts of our visit for the Governors. We also used a range of media to produce some fantastic pictures of the planets and used papier mache to create 3D models. At the end of term we brought in some amazing creative homework projects.
Some of our Year 5 children had a lot of fun completing their ‘Bikeability’ awards, meaning that they now know how to ride their bikes safely on the roads.
We are all enjoying our swimming lessons at the new pool in Clowne and are working hard to improve our techniques and stamina.
It has been a great start to the year!
